OBJECTIVES 

  1. To improve the entrepreneurial know-how of forum participants in the areas of
    • Management
    • Leadership
    • Planning
    • Assessing venture capital
  2. To improve the forum participant’s know-how on ways of using ICT to enhance business performance
  3. To encourage and facilitate incubation of new business ideas and business plans
  4. To initiate co-operative partnerships and joint ventures between forum participants
  5. To enable and encourage networking among the forum participants
  6. To facilitate creation of mentor-protégé relationships between the young entrepreneurs/would-be entrepreneurs and experienced businesspeople

TARGET GROUP 

Young Ghanaians or resident non-Ghanaians aged from eighteen (18) to thirty-five (35) with proven entrepreneurial abilities and/or interest.

FORUM SESSIONS 

  1. Learning Session

    • Session 1:  Business plan, design and implementation: how to get it done / Accessing Venture Capital
    • Session 2:  Managing your enterprise: growth, innovation and leadership
    • Session 3:  Information and communication technologies: entrepreneurs as knowledge executives
    • Session 4:   Forming Joint Ventures/ Partnerships

    In addition to these sessions, one additional plenary will be held on Creating and Maintaining Networks. This plenary will also serve as an introduction to the skills session 4. Speakers and experts in these sessions shall include a variety of representatives of business and educational sector as well as notable figures in the Ghanaian society.

  2. Networking Session

    The Networking sessions present the participants with an opportunity to get introduced to each others enterprises and business interests with the purpose of forming of joint ventures, partnership and/or other forms of co-operation, as well as for interacting with each other on personal level in an professional yet relatively free atmosphere. In these sessions, the forum venue will be divided into dedicated areas according to the sectoral interest and participants will be given an opportunity to give a presentation to introduce their enterprise. The participants can choose the presentations they are interested in and when they find a potential co-operator, they will also have the opportunity to discuss the matter privately in more detail. Networking sessions will be held on both forum days.

  3. Best Practice Session

    In this event young entrepreneurs who have made remarkable breakthroughs in their entrepreneurial endeavours share their success stories with the rest of the participants. The intent is to inspire and activate a passion for entrepreneurial excellence amongst participants.

  4. Mentoring Session

  5. Evening Functions

    These functions form an essential component of NEYFA Forum. They provide participants and guest with a casual setting that stimulates creative thinking and enhances the exchange of ideas.
